Enamelled steel
Our enamelled cookware consists of 100% natural raw material which makes them food safe. Enamelled steel is completely odourless, unlike other materials. This means that neither taste nor colour is transferred. The food keeps a clean flavour, both when cooking or storing in Kockums enamelled products. The enamel coating is highly durable and effectively resists dirt, stains and bacteria. Our enamelled kitchenware is the perfect material for optimal hygiene in the kitchen.
The design of the pot´s base and sides store the heat well and transfer it at the same time to the food that is cooked. Therefore, you can cook more gently on a lower temperature compared to other pots and thereby save energy. In addition, nutrient and healthy ingredients is better preserved, and the taste experience will be improved. Our enamelled steel is 100% nickel free and therefore recommended when cooking food to people with nickel allergy.
Care instructions:
• Before first use, wash the product with warm water and a mild detergent. Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly.• Never heat an empty pot. Heat it slowly with liquid, butter, or oil. Start at a low temperature and increase gradually. Once the desired temperature is reached, reduce the heat.
• In case of overheating, remove the cookware from the heat source and allow it to cool gradually.
• Always use oven gloves or pot holders when handling hot cookware.
• Never cool hot cookware or lids under cold running water. Let them cool gradually to avoid thermal shock and damage.
• For easier handling during cooking, never fill the cookware more than two-thirds full.
• To protect your cookware, use utensils made of silicone, heat-resistant plastic, or wood.
• Avoid using knives or metal utensils that may scratch and damage the enamel surface.
Cleaning:
• Always allow the cookware to cool before rinsing or washing.• Wash with warm water and mild detergent, rinse with clean water, and dry thoroughly. Dishwasher use is possible, but hand washing is recommended to maintain the shine of the color.
• Use only soft nylon sponges or dish brushes to remove stubborn food residues. Harsh sponges or strong cleaning agents may damage the surface.
• If food has burnt onto the cookware, let it soak in water for 10–15 minutes. Then empty the water and add lemon juice or linseed soap. Let it sit for a few minutes and gently scrub with a soft sponge.
• Stubborn stains can be removed using baking soda: mix baking soda with a few drops of water into a paste. Use a raw potato or a clean wine cork to rub the stain with the paste.
• Marks caused by metal utensils can sometimes be removed using a ceramic hob cleaner.
Kockums enamelled cookware works on all types of hobs, including induction and gas.
Electric: Always use a plate or cooking zone that matches the size of the base.
Gas: Adjust the flame so it does not rise along the sides. Keep the flame under the base.
Induction: Always wipe both surfaces dry before placing the cookware on the glass ceramic hob. Heat the product slowly. Always lift the cookware when moving it to avoid damaging the base or the hob.
Note: None of our enamelled products are suitable for microwave use.
